One of Italy’s biggest-ever mafia trials began Wednesday, where over 350 suspects of the ’Ndrangheta (pronounced drahn-get-ah) mafia syndicate are facing justice for a range of crimes. The group ran a global drug network from Calabria that generated tens of billions of euros annually, mostly from cocaine. About 900 witnesses will testify in the trial, in which about 400 lawyers are taking part.
