VP Mike Pence rejected using the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office. In a letter to House Speaker Pelosi, Pence said the mechanism should not be used ’as a means of punishment or usurpation.’ ’I do not believe that such a course of action is in the best interest of our nation or consistent with our Constitution,’ he added.

It it pathetic to judge Trump as mentally compromised while you allow a senile old man who absolutely is mentally compromised to walk into office. There us zero evidence that Trump incited anyone to storm inside the capital building. He encouraged his supporters to peacefully attend a protest which is the right of every Ametican citizen. I have seen videos of the capital police literally opening the barricades and allowing people inside. I repeat I have seen the video. I will believe what I have seen long before I will believe the mainstream interpretation of what Trump's words meant to his supporters. I have not once heard anything Trump has actual said which could be interpreted as 'storm the capital building'.

By not invoking the 25th, Pence is forcing the issue of impeachment which, if successful, will strip Trump of ever holding political office in the future, his pension and protection. I'm guessing Pence believes Trump is a real threat to our nation.

Look, people, two things. The 25th amendment is meant for specific situations that involve some kind of inability to govern. It was never meant to be used for political reasons. Second, why does it matter? He’s gone on the 20th anyway. The only purpose this serves is to further divide people.
