Biden picks former US ambassador to UN Samantha Power to lead USAID

President-elect Joe Biden named Samantha Power, who served as the US ambassador to the United Nations during the Obama administration, as his pick to head the US Agency for International Development. Power, if confirmed as administrator of the USAID, would sit on the National Security Council. Power, 50, who was born in Ireland, is a Pulitzer-winning former war correspondent.
