Armed forces deployed in 50 US state capitals as precautionary measures

Post the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, authorities called for a lockdown in Washington DC and prepared its forces to potentially meet with more pro-Trump protests in the other 50 state capitals. Armed forces have been deployed in the said capitals who will stay in position from Saturday through President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony which is to be held on January 20.

Government buildings surrounded by barricades and military. Is that considered a success for the "anti-facists"?

DEFINITELY looks legit and NOT AT ALL like someone is making a power grab against the will of the people./S Seriously though, this is why it's important to maintain the legitimacy of the process. By denying people a way to peacably address and resolve their disputes in court or in Congress, you have garunteed the only alternative method the people have. If only Pence would stick to precedent and form an electoral commission as we did in 1876, we might yet avoid war by showing the people an attempt to audit the vote in good faith, an effort to try and address these concerns peacefully.

Looks like the government finally fears the people..... And? Now what? What good is to come from any of this? The Republic fell long ago. What are you fighting for? It certainly isn't liberty. At least not in the way that I recognize it.

The best thing Trump supporters can do is to not show up. It will make the dems look extremly paranoid when they have all this and nobody shows up

This is how tyrrany begins. Fascists now control big media and social media, Dem politicians are part of that team and they use a pretext of a so called attack on the Capitol to militarize , censor and control the nation.

Funny thing is, i have not heard a single "lefty" decry these right wing supporters their right to peaceful protest. Its pretty much the open sedation which the left is finding unpalletable. The right should never ever again utter a word in opposition to peaceful protests in the future, even if they cannot personally see any reason to offer support for said causes.

All this for a man who won 85 mill votes - most ever in history? You would think they would be lining streets with rose petals not concertina wire.

Is it Boogaloons to the rescue or will they just be martyred after being target practice targets for the National Guard?

I remember well the thousands of troops protecting Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, etc at their inaugurations. Oh, wait, there was no NEED for that. Never happened. Gee whiz, I wonder what the difference is?
