Biden inauguration: 200,000 flags placed on National Mall to represent crowd

Around 200,000 flags have been placed on the National Mall from 3rd Street to 13th Street in downtown Washington, DC ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, on January 20, to denote the tens of thousands of people who won’t be able to attend the event due to the coronavirus pandemic- and security-related curbs. The flags represent all American states and territories.
