Google and French publishers sign deal, tech giant will now pay for news

Google and France’s Alliance de la Presse d’Information Generale – a group of publishers – have reached a deal in which the tech giant will make copyright payments to the publishers for using their digital news content. This comes after France promulgated a ’neighboring rights’ law to adopt new EU copyright rules. Earlier, Google negotiated similar deals with individual publishers in France.
