Apple’s M1 Macs are capable of running Ubuntu for the first time due to a new Linux port. Ubuntu has been successfully ported over to M1 Macs and has released a tutorial for others to follow by Corellium, a security firm offering virtualized version of iOS for security testing. USB support is included into the modified version of Ubuntu as it boots into the regular user interface.
We could run Ubuntu on Macs for as long as I can remember. Least since Tiger or snow leopard. Via bootcamp obviously.
