McConnell seeks to push Trump’s impeachment trial to February

Senate Republican Leader McConnell proposed delaying Donald Trump’s impeachment trial until mid-February. McConnell said he had offered a proposed timeline to new Senate Majority Leader Schumer which would see the House present the impeachment articles to the Senate on Jan. 28 and allow Trump’s legal team 14 days to prepare their pre-trial brief.

Congress needs a lesson in constitutional law; you can’t legally impeach a former president

Somebody is taking the American people for fools. A sound clip here, a decontextualized video there, and boom! Neighbors hate their neighbors, families are divided, and everything is just so frickin partisan these days. I'm solid right on fiscal issues, but I'll pay for your wheelchair and your cancer and your kid's braces. I'm a devout Christian but I don't care if two dudes want to marry each other in the eyes of the state. I wish to unsubscribe from the Zerg hive mind approach to politics.

So the senate can’t judge a private citizen, so all this BS about “protecting the Constitution” is just aunt Nancy’s “you didn’t do as I said and now I’m going to spank your naughty bottom”... IF the government can punish a private citizen like Donald Trump, just imagine what they could do to the rest of us...

There is nothing about this trial could be fair or just. The senators and congress are not capable of listening to the evidence and have a impartial decision. They are all witnesses to the alleged insurection. A person can not be prosecuter or defense attorney or especially not the judge or jury when they are involved in the alleged crime
