Pfizer reduces production of COVID-19 vaccine vials after FDA label change

The Trump administration’s approval of Pfizer’s ’six doses per vial’ vaccine label on January 6, came weeks after the agency revealed that any number of possible doses can be drawn from a single vial. This resulted in the company reducing the number of vials produced. A spokesperson claimed that the firm will adhere to the need of vaccine doses, ’not vials.’

In the long run, more doses worldwide. Great news. In the short term, Pfizer looks somewhat patty. I don’t know enough about syringes to know if there is really an issue with some of the current syringes in the pipeline unable to extract all 6 doses. That could be disastrous. Up to 16% of the doses lost. But if practitioners were noticing and administering 6 doses in the past, seems like they, at least, had the correct syringes.

Basically Phizer labels them like that so countries have to buy more Viles and we're hoping to get away with it.
