Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee sparks abortion debate in tweet response to VP Harris

On this 48th anniversary of Roe V. Wade, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee pushed back against a tweet sent out by VP Kamala Harris regarding healthcare, which would be inclusive of reproductive healthcare such as abortion. The response has been met with both contempt and praise.

Abortion is about murdering the consequences of a bad decision.

Abortion is murder. End of story. Basic human rights trumps all unless if one of you want to argue that the most basic right of all: the right of existence, the right to live.

Sure an unborn child's life is precious until that child is born than the born child is a problem on the taxpayer with food stamps healthcare and education please do tell how enforcing and not regulating abortion law helps? Because making abortions illegal doesn't stop it from happening. What if a female is sexually assaulted? Molested as a child? Please explain and saying it's against god's law is not a justifiable excuse because it's a double standard and it makes you sound like a hypocrite! PS the question was rhetorical BTW don't waste your time or energy messageing me because I will ignore you and not read or respond to your comment.

Explain something to me, as I fail to reconcile the blaring contradictions. The Right: pro-life; anti-abortion Also the Right: anti social programs, which, by-the-way, would help to ensure a quality of “life” for the child. Doesn’t sound like pro-life, sounds more like pro-birth, because after birth the right wants nothing to do with the child or it’s raising.

I think it should be up to each state to decide abortion regulations. I am against the idea of abortion but it should be legal.

When the government starts regulating men's reproduction we can begin to talk about whether it's fair to regulate women's reproduction. Until then, roe v wade establishes that the first amendment freedom of privacy extends to abortion.

Bill Lee is right. The termination of a life should not be considered "health care" any more than euthanasia.

First I’d say I’m against abortion and hope a woman never has to make the painful decision to terminate her pregnancy . Then I’ll point out it’s better to provide a safe means for a procedure she’ll seek out anyways if she decides to go through with termination. Now I’ll point out the obvious. It’s no one’s business but her own

Abortion should only be legal in the ghettos and 3rd world hoods.

We all agree that murder is wrong, so the question is whether at what point is a fetus alive in the same sense the rest of us are. Doctors use either heartbeat or brain activity to define a person's end of life. Logically, the same criteria should be used to determine the beginning of life. Both of these exist very soon after conception, so we can confirm that abortion is almost always murder.

Personally I'm conflicted on abortion, I mean I'm all for killing kids, but I hate the idea of giving women rights.

y'all need to stop pretending abortion is a simple, black and white issue. it is complex, it is situational, and your dogmatic fervor is in large part why we cant past sensible, freedom-loving policy we can all live with. what would aid us even further is if we allocated more money that focused on the wellbeing of our own nations children.

Perhaps not but if it's done in a back alley it may require healthcare.
