Russian parliament approves extension of nuclear treaty with US

Both the houses of Russia’s parliament –State Duma and Federation Council – voted to approve the extension of the New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) that seeks to limit the number of nuclear warheads, missiles and bombers that Russia and the US can deploy. This comes after US President Joe Biden called his Russian counterpart. Vladimir Putin. The treaty was set to expire on February 5.

This is fantastic. I hope the other ones as well as this (when the time comes again) will extend for a longer time. If I remember correctly most of them are going to be finished within a 20 -25 year range. I'm also assuming this is why the contract is so short compared to before they are probably trying to see how other countries will react (or scared they will be attacked if they didn't sign the extension)
