Robinhood blocks trading in GameStop, AMC and other stocks

Robinhood blocked its users from buying or selling stocks of several tech companies, including GameStop, AMC, BlackBerry, Nokia, citing ’recent volatility’ in the market. On Thursday morning, users reported they could still close out their positions, but can’t buy shares through the app. It started when members of the popular subreddit r/WallStreetBets joined forces to drive GameStop’s stocks up.

The game is only allowed if the elite are allowed to win it. Any competition to their dominance is met like what we're seeing now, they cant win it so theyre pulling the plug

Let the lawsuits commence! This is actually illegal stock manipulation. Can't wait to see them get their hand slapped hard out of the cookie jar! What a horrible move in every way.

The price dips, and the only people allowed to buy are the elites. Plebs banned from buying. I don't have faith that we'll see justice, but if we do it'll be glorious.

There's already talk of suing robinhood for this. If the little guys are prevented fron buying, the shortsellers can cover without losing billions more. The whole point was to make the big guys pay dearly to get these stocks back. Robinhood and others preventing the little guy from robbing the rich is stupid levels of irony.

To:David in the summery, You forgot to point out in the summery that hedge funds were poised to make a killing by short-selling GameStop after they pumped it up on CNBC as the stock to buy. The elite got kicked in the oysters this time by the 99%. Unlike the 99% they will get bailed out by the Federal government...again. I’m sure you just ran out of room in the summery, right?

Holy crap are the left and the right and the libertarians and anarchists finally agreeing on something? LET'S GOOOOOOO! I did what I could. Put $75 in and I'm gonna hold on to what I got. I might lose a little but I want in on this one. F these corporate big cats. We are the 99%, we have the power if we wield it!

Are you effing serious? They are allowed to spike the market with the media but when people fight against hedge funds they panic and stop it??? This is the Wall Street equivalent of taking the ball and going home.

If only we had a Securities and Exchange commission that investigated such things. This is just another example of private industries thinking they are law-enforcement.

It's not like Bane went and help the stock market ransom in the Dark Knight Rises here. People played the stock market with the rules provided and the rich got upset.

The wealthy can fuck with the market all they want. The dirty commoners though, how dare you. Different set of rules for the filthy rich. Why do we continue to give them power?
