Black deputy refused burial in Louisiana cemetery because of his race

The board of a small cemetery in Louisiana which had found itself in the middle of a controversy following its refusal to bury a Black sheriff’s deputy announced that it had removed a whites-only provision from its sales contracts. The deputy’s wife said that the refusal felt like a ’slap in the face, a punch in the gut.’ ’It was just belittling him,’ she further said.

Lawsuit. Unlike BLM defending rapists, thugs and murderers, this is a real case of racism and it won't stand up in court. The cemetery should pay for their racist policy.

Sojnds like an old policy that was hidden in the books. Glad they removed it, but man, why did they initially refuse the burial??? Thats a case for genuine racism.

Left over policy that was overlooked. Get rid of that old racist policy and move on. Also to leftists...this policy is what actual racism looks like.

Holy crap, some actual racism, I'm thinking we need a new term as its been watered down so much now.

Sad how many people jump to the comments before they read the article and now they sound dumb... also why would they want to bury him there when it’s was built as a “whites only” cemetery in the 1950s? (segregation didn’t end until 1964) I wouldn’t want my loved one there around them old racists anyway, dead or not it’s disgraceful

The owner/ board President ignoliged the issue and corrected it. Was in the bylaws prior to his appointment and was not aware and corrected it. Find it kinda strange that the terminally ill mans family what’s tell he is dead to make arrangements. He’s job has no baring to this.

Wow. Hold on. Something was actually racist, and not just felt to be racist ... this year is now stranger than the last.
