Britain to apply for membership of Asia-Pacific free trade bloc

Britain will apply to join the Pacific free trade area, the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership that includes Australia, Canada, Japan, Chile, Mexico Vietnam, and New Zealand, under its post-Brexit plans. The British government will make a formal request to join the pact, which represents 11 Pacific Rim nations, on Monday, and negotiations are expected to commence this year.
