Ryanair expects a loss of over $1 billion this year as travel restrictions bite

Ryanair has warned it is expecting an annual loss of between 850mn euros ($1.03bn ) and 950mn euros for its 2021 fiscal year, ending in March as the budget airline struggles through the ’most challenging’’ year in its 35-year history. Its loss in the 3 months ending in December was 306mn euros as Christmas and New Year traffic ’was severely impacted’ by travel bans imposed on UK travelers.
