Google is to pay $2.6M to more than 5,500 employees and past job applicants to resolve allegations that the company discriminated against female engineers and Asians in California and Washington state. The settlement closes a 4-year case that the Labor Department brought as part its periodic reviews of the pay practices at federal government contractors. Google fiercely contested the allegations.
Google also didn't hire me. I didnt apply, but thats besides the point....I was afraid to apply....for a fear of discrimination.. yeah. Thats it. Money please.
Drop in the bucket, probably cheaper than their lawyer fees.
Female engineers are pretty rare compared to male ones, so I wonder how that data skew actually looks.
Now that Google has bought their way out of discrimination, they can go back to policing and chastising others.
Let's compare the percentage of female engineer graduates with the participation rate. Let's not deny the typical psychological condition, where men tend to prefer to make things, and women tend to prefer to nurture and care. One produces stuff, one produces society. Of course, not all, but numbers don't lie, and facts don't care about feelings. If the proportion of female graduates is not the proportion of applicants and hires, fine. I bet it's inside the margin of error though. This fake woke society needs to stop being so absurd.
Wait... How much? $454 to $690 checks... Sounds like a google win to me Am i figuring this right? ..meh
Google is EVIL. PERIOD.
So a bunch of folks who applied for a job and didn't get it are about to receive a fat check for not getting the job. Crazy world we live in.
