Health workers from some 70 Myanmar public hospitals went into a strike in protest against the country’s military that toppled the civilian government. They called the military regime ’illegitimate’ with ’no regards for poor patients.’ Doctors are now treating patients in their homes and private clinics. The All-Burma Federation of Students Union has also urged other government workers to strike.
Brave men and women. It takes a lot to not just put your head in the sand and keep working during events like this. Hopefully the patients are stable enough to make it through, and hopefully they aren't too opposed to being neglected during the strike.
