Sony sold 4.5 million PlayStation 5 consoles in 2020

Sony announced that it sold 4.5 million PlayStation 5 next-gen consoles in 2020 despite initial hiccups in shipping after its launch in November. This is similar to sales figures for the PlayStation 4 soon after it launched in 2013. However, Sony also revealed that ’strategic price points for PS5 hardware were set lower than the manufacturing costs,’ which means it sold the consoles at a loss.

Wow, 4.5 million? Could have easily had double or triple that if they weren't playing this sh*tty game of fake shortages to boost their marketing campaign. Been a huge PlayStation fan for years but IDK if I'll buy another one after their 2020 BS in the middle of a pandemic when people were desperate for entertainment. I hope their marketing or production teams are fired, whoever's idea this was.

Yea but 3.5M of those went to scalpers. They don't exactly have 4.5M logged into their PSN right now
