Iowa state Rep. Beth Wessel-Kroeschell intentionally violated the state House dress code by wearing jeans as part of an effort to push local Republicans to implement a mask mandate on the House floor. Members of the Democratic Party pushed last month to add a mask mandate, along with other pandemic safety measures, to the House rules. GOP lawmakers, however, rejected these efforts.

I live in a small town in Northwest Iowa, an hour Northeast of Sioux City, IA. All of us Iowans love the Iowa Caucus. We’re correct at picking the winning candidate for each party about 78% of the time. Although many of us will admit it is an outdated and futile system of voting. And after last year’s mess with the democratic caucus, we won’t be surprised if it soon ceases to exist.
