Access to Facebook was blocked by the new military government of Myanmar as resistance to Monday’s coup surged amid calls for civil disobedience. Civilians have resisted the ousting of the elected government and its leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. The popularity of Facebook is becoming a concern for the military government, since that is how most people access the internet.
