Brazilian mining giant agrees to pay $7 billion for collapse that killed 272

Vale, the mining giant from Brazil signed a settlement deal to pay 37.7 billion reais ($7 billion) to the state of Minas Gerais, following the collapse of a dam two years ago that devastated the city of Brumadinho and killed more than 270 people. Minas Gerais officials said that the settlement is one of the largest ever realized in the country. 11 people are still missing following the incident.
