Trump urged to testify in Senate trial by impeachment managers

House impeachment managers have called on former President Donald Trump to testify under oath in his Senate impeachment trial, which kicks off next week. The Democrats’ lead impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin sent a letter to Trump and his attorneys alleging that the former president’s defense denies irrefutable facts about Trump’s role in the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Guilty for trying to make America Great Again. What a criminal. Who would want a President who put the people and country first. Thats why he's hated.

Why testify? All that does is lend legitimacy to an illegitimate "trial". Again impeachment is the process by which you remove a sitting president. It's literally pointless once they're gone. If this is the precedent leftists want to set i look forward to Republicans impeachment former president Obama for his selling of guns to cartels which directly resulted in the death of a US border patrol agent. That's how silly this spectacle is.

Trump is innocent until they prove guilty. If they need him to testify. They don't have any evidence. They need him to explain his comments at the rally. Trump should refuse and is not required to testify.

Oh but all the blm and antifa riots that the other politicians were supporting that were killing tons of people and burning communities are just brushed under the rug

The whole thing is unconstitutional. Besides, just like the first sham impeachment, they claim the evidence is irrefutable. Why would they want him to testify? They clearly want to trip him up so they can accuse him of lying to Congress. Lawyers play that game all the time. Trump is too smart to fall for that nonsense.

Why should he testify in an unconditional impeachment trial? It's a sham and will be over soon. Just ignore it.

This nation is under seige by a party of nothing to do with America & it is like watching what the world was like before law & order ever became law & order. All those of 9-11, all those that fought & died for this country, our forefathers, All disrespected & All dishonored. All the Democrats have proven us how far evil can go to prove it's power but in the end, it never wins.

It's another one of their evil traps. I'd plead the 5th and let the lawyers do all the talking.

This is hilarious because you know he's going to lie about something, idk what, but there's no way he'll be in the public eye under oath
