US added 49,000 jobs in January in a modest rebound from December loss

The US labor department on Friday said America added 49,000 non-farm jobs in January, which is a modest gain from the December loss. Unemployment rate also dropped slightly to 6.3% from 6.7%. However, some industries also reported more losses than December, like leisure and hospitality jobs saw a drop of 61,000 in January and retail trade payrolls fell by 37,800 after gaining 134,900 in December.
