Russia expels German, Polish, Swedish envoys for attending Navalny rallies

Russia said it was expelling diplomats from Germany, Poland and Sweden for attending an ’illegal’ rally backing Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. Moscow said the envoys have been declared ’persona non grata’ and will leave Russia soon. Earlier, the EU’s foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, told Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, that the Navalny case hit a ’low point’ in EU-Russia ties.
