Minneapolis law enforcement reportedly obtained a search warrant ordering Google to turn over location data to help track down a suspect who set fire to an AutoZone store during May 27th, 2020 protests over the death of George Floyd. The warrant reportedly required Google to provide account data for anyone ’within the geographical region’ of the store.
If they used it for capitol rioters then use it for the fentanyl riots. I’d prefer no corporate surveillance though
Lock up all the thug garbage ASAP. They can't be among us any longer
I think there's a problem with the, "anyone in the geographical location" part. So everyone's privacy is breached over one hoodlum.
This sets an ugly precedent and only allows authoritarians to do what they love, it must end here.
They violated their oath to defend the constitution. Strip them of their badges and line them up against a wall. The constitution is pretty clear on how tyrants need to be dealt with
I disagree with using it for people at the Capitol and I disagree with them using it here.
What good will that do ? The DA WILL NOT PROSECUTE .
Big brother is always finding ways to watch over you...
Using location data tells where the electronic device was or is located. The electronic device does not show where the person is or was located unless there is video with dates and time. Even then all the information can be manipulated.
All the more reason to stay anonymous online.
BLM and Antifa are domestic terrorists
Not protesters. They are rioting insurgents.
I'm not a fan of the government tracking my every move but if they are using the information to catch a criminal that's fine. I don't want them to go overboard. Now if I were to make a suggestion to criminals it would be leave your phones at home during illegal activities.
