Elon Musk pledges $100 million for new X Prize carbon removal competition

Elon Musk announced Monday his $100mn XPrize competition for technologies to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Fifteen teams will be selected for the competition within 18 months. They will each get $1mn, and 25 separate $200,000 scholarships will be given to student teams who enter. The grand prize winner will be awarded $50mn, second place will receive $20mn, and third place will get $10mn.

Here's a solution. Instead of freaking out about carbon, harness it. Carbon nano-chains are super strong and have many uses. Capture the carbon and put it to work.
