Nearly two weeks after contracting COVID-19, Texas Republican Representative Ron Wright died on Sunday. A statement released by his office announced that Wright had also been undergoing treatment for cancer for years. He is the first sitting member of Congress to die of the virus. His wife, Susan Wright had also been diagnosed with COVID-19, and both were admitted to the Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He died from cancer.
