Google is going to start paying UK publishers for news

Google has rolled out a plan to pay news publishers for their content in the UK. Google has been under pressure to share digital ad revenue with web content providers. It said it has signed deals to pay licensing fees to 120 British publications, including Financial Times and Reuters. CEO Sundar Pichai in Oct. said the program would help the company pay $1B to publishers over the next three years.
