Crews from the Duluth Fire Department rescued 26 anglers on Lake Superior, when an ice floe broke away from the Minnesota shoreline, stranding them in frigid weather. No injuries were reported, and the crews brought the anglers to shore a few at a time by boat. The rescue operation was conducted by the Coast Guard, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Rescue Squad and the Duluth Police Department.
