China’s probe reaches Mars, second spacecraft to reach red planet this week

China Tianwen-1 spacecraft successfully entered Mars orbit. This is the second spacecraft to reach Mars this week after UAE’s probe, ’Amal,’ entered its orbit on February 9. With this, China has become the 6th nation to reach Mars after the US, Russia, EU, India and the UAE. Tianwen-1 has both an orbiter, which will remain in space; and a lander, which will attempt to reach Martian surface in May.

Big deal. They finally made it to Mars. As of mid-2018, Curiosity is working on the surface along with another NASA rover called Opportunity, which has been roaming the surface since 2004. Opportunity was initially designed for a 90-day mission, but remains active after more than 14 years on Mars.

Azimov was more correct than any of us every imagined! Mars is the only planet inhabited solely by robots! It won't be long until they return fire at this rate.
