Travel for Lunar New Year discouraged by China

Compared to last year, a 74% drop in the number of trips made on the first day during China’s Lunar New Year travel period has been seen. Stringent rules have been applied by the government due to concerns regarding COVID-19. This period is considered as being the largest annual mass migration in the world. Air and rail travel has been down by about 80% while road trips were down by one-third.
