Senator Hagerty says Democrats want to humiliate Trump, shame his supporters

You should be humiliated and ostracized for storming the capitol and trying to stop an election. Pretty simple.

It is not to shame Trump. It is to prevent what happened from happening again. It is not to force his followers into submission. We are all free to believe what we choose. However, we all must accept majority rule. That is the foundation of our democracy

It is kind of interesting to consider how things would have been w/o covid. Citizens would have been allowed to be present during the proceedings, so none of this BS coup stuff. Of course w/o covid there wouldn't have been rigged mail-in vote, so no Sniffy "victory" and no impeachment. It only applies to sitting offices....That's why Nixon resigned and previously William Blount's impeachment was dropped because he had already left office.... In addition, the chief Justice is supposed to preside... "The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside:" ... This farce is nothing more than political theater. If Trump could be convicted of an actual crime, the DC prosecutor could charge him.

The Democrats just haven’t noticed that Donald Trump is not President anymore. For four years he’s been the only thing in their head and now he’s gone they don’t know where to direct their hate. Senator Bill Hagerty is so wrong about it being the Democrat that's humiliating Trump. He did that all by himself. He encourage his followers to fight for Trump. Not for America, but for Trump only, now a lot of them are arrest and blaming Trump. All this damaged,death and stupid actions, that happen at the Capitol was done because of him. Theses senators want admit the Truth, that Trump incited a riot, a attack on the Capitol. They rather stay down the rabbit hole.
