US unemployment claims fall slightly to 793,000, layoffs remain high

The number of American workers who filed for unemployment aid fell slightly last week to 793,000 from 812,000 the previous week, the Department of Labor announced. However, data showed that layoffs remained high despite a substantial decline in new coronavirus infections. So far, nearly 10 million American workers lost their jobs since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the United States in early 2020.

Have the lockdowns worked? The states that haven't locked down haven't been doing any worse in infection rates for almost an entire year now. Can we start using actual science and data to help society get back to normal??

Would these numbers reflect the people no longer eligible for benefits? Looks as if it might if layoffs are still rising. Gotta love the media running interference for the establishment, people are struggling all over and all people get is the boot ever more firmly pushed on their necks while the border is opened to anyone who can make it here apparently. The $15 an hour distraction won’t pass the vote (too much pork attached) the migrants, coming to a town near you, will push the living wage down and the only ones who will make anything from this will be the elites as usual. Remember, elections have consequences...
