Jaguar to go all-electric by 2025; to be carbon neutral by 2039

Jaguar Land Rover on Monday announced plans to become a net-zero carbon business by 2039 for which its Jaguar brand will become an all-electric luxury vehicle marque from 2025. The first all-electric Land Rover was due in 2024, with five more electric vehicles planned by 2025, the carmaker said. The announcement follows similar announcements from Volkswagen-owned Bentley and BMW-owned Rolls-Royce.

Will papa Ford really allow this? I mean this is the most environmentally flawed concept there is. Give them a donut, and tell them to stick closer to church oriented activities!

Good for them. I'm all down for electric cars, but it won't be carbon neutral until power generation is all renewable, and it won't be clean until we find a way to recycle the spent batteries or come up with new clean battery technology. But first step is still getting more variety, and cheaper electric cars. Everyone who bashes them has never driven one, stomped on the gas pedal and zoomed from 0-60 faster than almost any gas powered car. Problem is affordability. We need more than luxury brands making them.

It's too difficult and expensive to deal with climate change. It's so much easier and cheaper to just deny it.

Carbon neutral include all that foreign mining for the minerals that make up the batteries?

To bad it will kill them.

...and just one more reason why jaguar will die out. Virtue signaling to environmentalism but without the actual means to black up the claims.

Good luck
