After a month of downtime, Parler is back online

’Free speech’ social network Parler, is back online. The social network was cut off from the internet by Amazon more than a month ago. A press release was shared by Parler where the social network claimed that their new backend is ’built on sustainable, independent technology’. The social network further claimed that they will not be reliant on ’Big Tech’ for their operations.

Good. It was time they moved on from Amazon; a corporation of greed, low wages and morale and sell Chinese junk. Everyone really should boycott Amazon.

That's good they got their echo chamber back. Now, perhaps they'll leave NewsVoice and go back home so the rest of us can get back to reasonable adult discussions.

The funny thing is it wasn’t right wing, it’s just factual conversation with same minded folks that as a majority are willing to have a discussion rather than attack a person based on a different viewpoint... it’s where the big kids hang out

Excellent free speech is back. Ppl can find the TRUTH. Or at least hear both sides. Instead of DNC state run Twitter Facebook and you tube

Good to see! I probably won't go there, cause I don't actually like to be on conservative dominated sites (like YT and Facebook) any more than liberals dominated ones. (Like Twitter and Reddit) But it is good to see free speech platforms doing well, since free speech shouldn't be a partisan issue anyway. A reminder to everyone that CloutHub is still going strong too. They have all the same values as Parlor, so if you're more into conservation spaces and free speech, check them out!

Great now we can see a bunch of right wingers talk about how they want to rape and kill AOC openly on the Internet and call it free speech.

Now they're renting servers off of a different company with "hate speech rules". They don't define what hate speech is though. I will only use social media platforms that own their own servers and infrastructure.

That's good. I probably won't agree with most of what the people there say, but as long as they aren't partisan with their censorship it's good to have more platforms than twitter. Competition drives innovation.

“Downtime?” That is too cute of a word to describe the shutdown of Parker

I do not condone violence in any form, but am pleased they are back online - they have a right to and believe their community standards are appropriate.

The best part about this article is the fact that “free speech” is in quotations.
