Biden supports study of slavery reparations, White House says

President Joe Biden supports a study on whether descendants of people held as slaves in the United States should receive reparations, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said. Currently, the issue is being debated in the Congress. During a media briefing, Psaki said Biden ’continues to demonstrate his commitment to take comprehensive action to address the systemic racism that persists today.’

If a person's rights are violated they should receive compensation from the person who did it. The descendants of both are not eligible or required to give compensation since they are not the ones who did it or had their rights violated.

We, justly, paid reparations for internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII. A bi-partisan bill signed by St. Reagan.
