A mayor from Texas submitted his resignation after he reportedly told residents to fend for themselves in a Facebook post amid a deadly and record-breaking winter storm that left much of the state without power. Tim Boyd, the then-mayor of Colorado City had written a message saying ’only the strong will survive and the weak will perish.’ ’No one owes you or your family anything,’ he said.
You all should read the whole post by him. It wasn't missing context. The rest of the post was insanely uncalled for. I'm sorry, but if you pay your taxes and your utility bills, the state and electric companies DO owe you a safe place to go in a time of crisis... You know, like freezing temperatures, with no running water it electricity for almost 10% of your population. Many of whom have health issues, are children or elderly. This was in response to being asked if there are emergency centers set up. Crisis response IS the job of the government.
Texans turned into a bunch of socialists that want the government to take care of them, real quick. So when it comes to snow, government should ensure everyone is taken care of, but when it comes to cancer, you should fend for yourself? Riiiigggght.
Their tax dollars hard at work
Alternative title - Texas mayor makes snowflakes melt
IT'S TEXAS! The reason why people move there is that they don't have to worry about snow. What a crazy thing to say.
Bet he has a generator at his home...
I feel like this is in regards to liberals and illegal immigrants
Well, he's not wrong.
Thats the ignorant future libertarians dream of.
I smell missing context, could it be that the fine people in the MSM are not giving use the whole story.... or the good mayor was drunk-posting. One of the two.
