Plane debris fall onto Denver neighborhood during emergency landing

Debris from a United Airlines plane fell onto Denver suburbs during an emergency landing on Saturday after one of its engines suffered a catastrophic failure. The plane landed safely, and nobody aboard or on the ground was reported hurt. The Boeing 777-200, flying from Denver to Honolulu, returned to the Denver International Airport after experiencing a right-engine failure shortly after takeoff.

It will be interesting to read where the human error came in here. Maintenance error? Design flaw? And how was it missed either way? Either way, these stories don't paint a good picture for Boeing right now. All the public will see is a 777 falling apart midair with no clear reason.

If that photo is actually connected to this story, that person was really pretty lucky. The debris missed his car and his house.
