SCOTUS paves way for release of Trump’s tax returns

Former President Trump suffered a major setback on Monday in his quest to conceal details of his finances, after the SCOTUS paved the way for a NYC prosecutor to obtain his tax returns and other financial records. The decision was announced in an order with no noted dissents. Reacting on the ruling, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said, ’The work continues.’

If they've got probable cause, they should be able to look at his tax records. On this point, a prosecutor should have been able to investigate Obama's return to the USA from Indonesia and his securing a Connecticut SSN that belonged to a deceased Russian immigrant, Harrison J Bounel along with his admission into college as a foreign exchange student.

Just realized that all this is precedent for the eventual investigation into the Biden Crime Syndicate.

Note to anyone that has business dealings in NY state: if you get on the wrong side of the politcally partisan legal apparatus there, they will come after you whether you did anything wrong or not. And SCOTUS will just let it happen. Sounds like a plotline from the show Billions...

The IRS, the government body in charge of prosecuting tax violations, has always had his tax return. The Dems have had multiple attempts to find ANYTHING to condem him on, and failed at every turn. This will be nothing but a waste of time and money on a personal vendetta.

Jon. He should still be able to have the same rights as every other citizen in America. He should still get the right to due process and should not be investigated unless there is suspicion of an actual crime I can't see how you cannot understand how damaging this is to every single Anericqan citizen. The Supreme Court has literally stated that anyone can be investigated and have their tax reports handed over to any law enforcement agency even if they have zero suspicion of any crime. If Trumps records are clean, which I highly suspect they are, this will lead to a precedent whereby all citizens, including past presidents, senators and Congress officials are now open to scrutiny without any just cause.

Wasnt his tax information already leaked. Then a couple weeks later Biden laptop information leaked but they (big tech) confirmed that as fake news and took it off every and any social media platform. Pepperidge farm remembers. Another thing, if what all these politicians say is true that they hate Trump and are glad he is gone so "we can work together as a country" this is the third investigation into him and its only been 2 months. He didnt even go after Hillary this hard. Y'all (the left) have a bigger hard on for Trump then people who actually support him. Holy cow.

As a business owner, I use any and all loopholes to give the government the least amount of my money as possible. I also take cash as much as possible to avoid paying taxes. I don't care anymore. Come get me.

Why are people so obsessed with how much someone else paid in taxes? Here’s a news flash: Trump probably paid nothing in taxes. He does almost everything under the Trump Organization ( and gets so many write offs for them). That’s just how the game of America works. Be corporate. Or be gone.

His shady business deals should surprise no one who knows of the mans history. Its strange how the devout trump supporters out there refuse to acknowledge how terrible the man actually is. A new york liberal elite was the conservatives choice to better America? Lol. Please.

Didn't his tax returns hacked and released already? Oh man, these comments are so filled with double standards, but maybe bringing that up is just beating a dead horse at this point. The hypocrisy and double standards have been exposed for years now. (For those who have a memory better than a gold fish anyways)

Means nothing. Still have to show us anything criminal. They continue to investigate at nauseum to no avail. Political hacks do not belong in the legal system. Any judge that takes the law seriously should be immediately dismissing these frivolous, baseless, lawsuits and award legal fees to Trump. Insane that this is allowed to continue.

The deranged & corrupt activist-Media just can’t stop spewing vitriolic diatribe against the people’s President. In the very same breath, Beijing-Bribes-Biden is given sweet, irrelevant, and entirely asinine questions. It’s almost as if he has no responsibility, oddly like some idolized & famous Hollywood Moviestar. His nearly 60 EO’s are just, “Autographs.”

I believe that he should be held accountable for his tax fraud but all of this is taking away from bigger issues like his COVID response. Due to his failed leadership, lies, and divisiveness, half a million people have died so far. How can a country as strong as ours make up for 20% of the world's COVID deaths when our population is only 4.25% of it?

What does Biden have to do with Trumps criminal acts? If Trump gets into trouble for breaking tax laws that’s on trump. That has nothing to do with Biden. Now Biden has released his last 3 years of taxes and if he did anything to get into trouble for breaking tax laws; that has nothing to do with Trump. Please right wingers stop dumping for Trump like this. Biden, Obama, Clinton have nothing to do with Trump breaking the law(s).

There is a common theme among people who have been conned. They don't want to admit that they have been conned because they are embarrassed and feel that their judgement is inferior. This is why a lot of cons go unreported and are able to take advantage of a lot of people before they ever get caught.

so SCOTUS has now legalized searching people's papers and records to fish for crimes they may have committed. this is as unconstitutional as it gets. there is a totalitarian and despotic agenda being implemented in this country. ot won't be long before we look exactly like Hitler Germany, stalins Soviet union and mao Zedong China.

The people want to know. The people deserve to know. Every modern president has released their tax returns. It insured that the President doesn’t have debt that could be a national security risk. In Trumps case, we are about to find out that he isn’t who he has said he was all along. It magical.

There is no probable cause in this case. This is a hunting expedition to create a crime, manufacture guilt, where none exists. Straight out of Gulag Archipelago.
