A Houston-area family whose son died during a power outage is suing its electricity provider and the agency that oversees most of Texas’ energy grid. Cristian Pavon, 11, died last Tuesday of hypothermia. The family alleges negligence and is seeking more than $100M in damages. The family is suing Entergy Texas, its electricity provider, and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
Where was the family when this young man froze to death?
These are all covid deaths, right?
It seems like some of these deaths could’ve been avoided but because people from Texas don’t get this kind of weather the people and system aren’t prepared for it. I’ve slept on the ground in 20 degree weather, with just the clothes on my back. There’s no way that these people just died because they didn’t have heat, just my opinion but I feel like it’s more than just because they didn’t have power.
