Bipartisan Senate probe on Capitol riot to start with lens on security lapses

A bipartisan group of senators will begin a probe with a series of hearings will focus on the security lapses that allowed the deadly storming of the US Capitol on January 6. The inquiry will start with the questioning of those who were tasked with securing the Capitol during the riot. Among those on the panel are Republican Ron Johnson, who has said the riot wasn’t an armed insurrection.

Where else can they start when the primary defense of the protesters seems to be " I thought it was ok to be there until they started shooting at us."? It doesn't look very legitimate at all... Seriously, I have looked at the footage. I don't see the insurrection, and I am pretty sure we would see charges stick with some convictions by now. Still, nothing I have seen has lent any credibility to the Captitol forces or their actions on that day in January.

Hard to have an armed insurrection with no guns..
