The next USPS mail truck has finally been chosen

The United States Postal Service has finally selected the replacement for it’s aging Grumman LLV fleet. With manufacture dates between 1987 and 1994, the aging trucks have certainly exceeded their 24 year expectations, and Wisconsin based Oshkosh has been chosen to assemble a new national fleet for the mail service. Expect to start seeing both gasoline and EV versions of the NGDV vehicles in 2023.

Ugly, but the EV trucks will certainly further increase the profitability of the post office. Especially if they are relieved of their unique burden to provide billions into their retirement fund.

Should have never gotten away from the little Jeeps. Those things ran forever and were good in gas. Hell, I'm old enough to remember when the mail carriers walked the block with a little cart. Sunshine and exercise (especially when the occasional dog got loose).

Tbh, they don't look ugly. They look different, yes, but i think they're interesting looking. Every generation thinks the new stuff looks dumb but after the novelty wears off they forget it. I'm sure our grandparents thought current trucks looked dumb, too.

I like to imagine that they send a random postal worker on some lord of the rings sort of quest to find the next vehicle design

I like it. Very functional design. Mail trucks aren't meant to look cool.
