India introduces stricter new rules for Facebook, Twitter

India has announced a new set of regulations for social media in the country, especially the big ones, like Facebook and Twitter. Now, these companies must set up a ’grievance redressal mechanism’ for users, including official ’grievance officers’ who must acknowledge complaints within a day and resolve them within 15 days. They must also remove lewd content within 24 hours of a user flagging it.

Here's a really easy fix... Delete your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Look for a social media alternative that doesn't manipulate its users and sell their private information.

Good stuff. FB, Twitter and Google act like they can do whatever they want. Ha! The world is saying No! All FB has achieved is bring out all the loonies, crazies, idiots, stupid, nutters and nasty people out into the open

Most of that sounds good, but I am a bit worried about the "lewd" comment part. Who defines what a "lewd" comment is and can anything just get flagged for being lewd and then subsequently removed?
