A hardware startup named Framework, founded by Nirav Patel, a former Oculus engineer is looking at providing laptops with the Fairphone model. With this model, a screwdriver will also be shipped for users in the box. The Framework laptop, the first product by the company has been announced. It is a notebook having 13.5 inch screen and contains a number of modular parts.
If they aren't bought out by big tech, they'll be destroyed by big tech. No way they'll give more power to the consumer.
A lot of parts of a laptop are modular already: Optical Drive, Keyboard, RAM, HDD/SSD. What I want is a laptop with a modular screen, GPU and CPU. Give me that and we will talk.
This is the kind of company that makes possible advances and milestones
Promising
Hoppfully not so fareless as Farephone. Worst company in Europe ever. Low quality and you get your device destroyed if you dont pay additional 400 euros for problems you have never had...
That’s an idea I’ve always been fascinated by. Pretty awesome to see the concept of a modular laptop become a reality for consumers through Framework
