UK top court rules ’Islamic State bride’ cannot return

Shamima Begum, the so-called ’Islamic State bride’, has failed to restore her British citizenship after a supreme court ruling. The judgment is critical and comes as a test case of the UK’s policy to strip the citizenship of Britons who went to join ISIS and are being detained by Syrian Kurdish groups without trial. Begum was 15 when she left east London with two other school friends to join ISIS.

I’d like to think this might be a rare time where us on the left and others on the right can come together and agree on a decision for once. I hope she enjoys her new home!

Well... People die because of their religious beliefs, so holding a belief can subsequently have consequences... Next time check what kind of consequences you might suffer!

Actions have consequences That his her stupid fault because she thought it would be cool... now she is attempting to crawl back... not to mention if she is acceptable to ISIS then she could easily be manipulated into a domestic terrorist

I will never understand why all these young people wanted to go there and get married. There is something very wrong with them.Didn't they realize what Isis was,? Truly stupid. Glad they are getting what they deserve

I feel sorry only for her children. They will likely not ever have a chance to be anything of worth. I'd be all for them coming to England she can live with her choices and their ramifications however.

I wonder if maybe joining ISIS might have been a bad idea. Just a thought.
