Minneapolis hires influencers for messaging during trial over Floyd’s death

The Minneapolis City Council has approved paying six social media influencers to spread city-approved messaging and updates throughout the upcoming trial of former officer Derek Chauvin charged in George Floyd’s death. The council approved $1,181,500 for communication with the community during the trial. The city says social media partners will help dispel potential misinformation.

We shall see. My guess is that they will label any evidence thats makes Floyd look bad as "misinformation."

Ok, will wait until we see what these messages say, but have to say this sounds weird as hell to me. Is the $1.18 million being spent to avoid the riots that are virtually guaranteed to happen no matter what?!

So in other words.... Let paid biased people tell you how to think and what to believe, any independent thinking or opinion is forbidden.

Just by name "influencer" indicate job is to influence, not be accurate/truthful. Not that they can't be accurate/truthful, just not primary job

The paid propaganda peddlers, paid for of course by your tax dollars. And well spent too I’ll wager, because no matter what the outcome, the city council ( the people that spent your money) will get the full protection from the influencers that they have bought and paid for. Edit: spelling

Well at least they're admitting they're paying for propaganda.

You can bet your hard-earned this strategy is to manipulate the trial of public opinion and recast the outrage at their interference in due process to get convictions as racism. They want guilty verdicts and they intend to put their finger on the scales. You don’t hire SIX spin companies @ $300K average each otherwise.

This money could have been better used for city infrastructure.

George Soros. Can I write that or is it part of the censorship of the 1984 Newsvoice Doublespeak? Maybe the pro-communist moderators can chime in? Thank you for supporting the official storyline!

Why not broadcast the trial live on TV and the internet? That way anyone watching can make up their own mind rather than being spoon fed some 'crafted' narrative.

With an average payout of nearly 200k. I wonder how well this will contain the rioting when it turns out that the prosecutor has massively overplayed the scanty evidence and the officers are acquitted. I wonder what over a million dollars worth of loyal, non-abandoned, non-demonized, still employed police would have managed in the same situation. One of my ponderings is likely to get an answer.

"The city says social media partners will uphold the current narrative." Fixed that last line.

Floyd who should have still been in jail for 10 or 20 years since he was a career criminal that did home invasions. He's in hell where he belongs. The cops will be found not guilty because floyd had 6 times the lethal dose of Fentanyl in his body watch the entire video He's clearly oding

$1.18 million dollars? 6 people being paid $2000 each only amounts to $12k. Where's the rest going?
