Philippine president fires diplomat seen assaulting staff
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has sacked a former ambassador to Brazil, after she was caught on camera attacking a domestic worker at her official residence in Brasilia. Marichu Mauro was recalled to Manila late 2020 after she was seen on security camera footage, filmed over eight months, repeatedly assaulting a member of her household staff. Mauro’s firing means she will lose her pension.
When I hear “fire” and “Rodrigo Duterte” in the same sentence, I assume someone was shot. This story is the exception, not the rule😂
