Senate confirms Tom Vilsack as agriculture secretary
The Senate confirmed Tom Vilsack as President Biden’s agri secretary. Vilsack served the same cabinet position within the Obama administration. Biden previously called Vilsack, ’The best secretary of agriculture I believe this country has ever had.’ Sen. Bernie Sanders joined six Republicans in voting against the nomination. ’I think he’ll be fine, but not as strong as I would like,’ Sanders said.

I really feel this position and ones like it should be populated by politically-minded people, who represent the views of those in the related industries, but did not come from them. The relationship between power and bias, if and where present, is uncomfortable. I feel that would be a sufficient filter.
