Bowl in Connecticut yard sale turns out to be rare 15th-century Chinese artifact

A 16-inch white porcelain bowl bought for $35 at a Connecticut yard sale turned out to be a rare 15th-century Chinese artifact. It will go up for auction in New York at Sotheby’s, where it is expected to fetch between $300,000 and $500,000. An antiques enthusiast came across the bowl, which has cobalt blue paintings of flowers, when browsing a yard sale in the New Haven area in 2020 and bought it.

Imagine if you were one of the dozens of people who were also at that yard sale and decided not to buy it.
