Far-right AfD party to be spied on by German intelligence agency
According to reports by the media, the Alternative für Deutschland, the rightwing Populist Party, is to be spied on by the intelligence agency of Germany due to a suspicion of threat imposed to democracy. The phones of AfD members can now be monitored by law by the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) agency. Suspected activities can also be spied on by the agency.
While it does seem like the AfD has gone a little wild lately, the idea of the government spying on an opposition party seems dystopian. Not too sure that its the right path to go here.

Nothing like taking an ad out in the trades to discuss a covert operation you are conducting against your opposition. Perhaps Nixon should have done that with Watergate.
I think I’ve heard about this one time, last time it happened I think it resulted in a government suppressing its own citizens that didn’t agree with them and millions died..

I can understand the fear behind making this decision but when you become the very thing you sworn to destroy it looks kinda good for the bad guys
